SONIX SA
Cookies Policy
Version 2.10
Publication date: August 20, 2026 · Effective date: August 20, 2026
Plain-language summary Cookies, but make it short: this policy covers sonix.gg* **and every subdomain (including arena.sonix.gg).* • One consent tool — Nitro CMP — handles every cookie category on this page: necessary, analytics, and advertising, in a single banner. • A handful of strictly necessary cookies keep the lights on and the bots out. Always on, no choice needed. • One analytics tool (Google Analytics 4), locked down as tight as Google lets us, only runs if you say yes. • Advertising cookies run for any account meeting our standard age eligibility, through one gaming-focused ad partner (Nitro/Overwolf) — never for school or institutional accounts, no exceptions. • Change your mind anytime.

1. Who we are
SONIX SA (“SONIX”, “we”, “us”), a Swiss company registered under CH-550-1185270-2, Rue de Genève 100, 1004 Lausanne. Formerly TYXIT SA. Cookie questions: privacy@sonix.gg.
2. What this policy covers
Plain-language summary Our websites and apps. Pairs nicely with our Privacy Policy.
This policy covers sonix.gg (and all subdomains, including arena.sonix.gg), the SONIX desktop app, and the SONIX mobile app, to the extent it uses similar technologies. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy at sonix.gg/privacy for the fuller picture.
3. Cookies, explained
Plain-language summary Cookies are small text files your browser saves. Apps use similar tech (local storage, SDKs) to do the same job. Either way, they help things work and remember stuff between visits.
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you, remember your preferences, or just function properly next time you visit. Our apps use the equivalent — local storage, device-side databases, SDK-managed identifiers — doing the same job, just inside the app instead of the browser.
By how long they last:
- Session cookies — gone the moment you close the browser or quit the app.
- Persistent cookies — stick around for a set period, up to 13 months for analytics identifiers.
By who sets them:
- First-party — set directly by SONIX.
- Third-party — set by someone we work with: Nitro/Overwolf, which runs our consent management platform (Nitro CMP) site-wide and — for eligible adult accounts only — serves as our advertising partner through the same, IAB-registered (TCF) consent tool; and Google Analytics 4 (analytics). One consent record now covers necessary, analytics, and advertising choices together. More in Sections 5, 6, and 7.
4. Cookie inventory
Plain-language summary Every cookie we set, what it does, how long it sticks around. Updated whenever this changes.
| Cookie name | Set by | Category | Lifetime | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __cfuvid | Cloudflare (first-party) | Strictly necessary | Session | Tells bots from real visitors; keeps the site stable and secure. |
| wf-csrf | Webflow (first-party) | Strictly necessary | Session | Blocks cross-site request forgery on forms and admin actions. |
| wf-csrf.sig | Webflow (first-party) | Strictly necessary | Session | Cryptographic signature for wf-csrf. |
| [Nitro CMP consent] | Nitro/Overwolf (TBC) | Strictly necessary | [TBC] | Remembers your consent choice and ID across all categories. |
| [Nitro CMP banner] | Nitro/Overwolf (TBC) | Strictly necessary | Session | Checks whether the consent banner needs to show on this page load. |
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 (third-party) | Analytics | Up to 13 months | Distinguishes visitors so we can count aggregate usage. |
| _ga_NC6T7NYDNJ | Google Analytics 4 (third-party) | Analytics | Up to 13 months | Persists GA4 session state for our property. |
| [Nitro ads] | Nitro/Overwolf (third-party) | Advertising | [TBC] | Serves and measures gaming-context advertising. |
[SONIX Legal — 20 Aug 2026: Nitro CMP replaces CookieYes as of this version. Exact cookie names, first/third-party classification, and lifetimes for the Nitro CMP consent cookie(s) and the Nitro advertising cookies must be confirmed against Nitro’s technical/subprocessor documentation and inserted before publication — placeholders above must not go live as-is.]
Cookies set by Nitro CMP hold your consent choice and ID across categories. Full detail on what Nitro’s advertising cookies collect is in Section 7.
5. Strictly necessary cookies
Plain-language summary Essential — without them, the site breaks: no login, no session, weak security. Because they’re essential, EU and Swiss law don’t require consent for these.
Three cookies, three jobs:
- **Cloudflare (__cfuvid)** — sits in front of the site, keeps bots, scrapers, and DDoS attacks out.
- Webflow (wf-csrf, wf-csrf.sig) — protects forms and secure areas from cross-site request forgery.
- Nitro CMP (consent cookie(s)) — remembers your consent choice across every category on this page. Run by Nitro/Overwolf as our single consent management platform, supporting Google Consent Mode v2 and the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF). Nitro/Overwolf is our data processor for consent management under the written contract already in place for the advertising integration; hosting location and any consent-record international-transfer mechanism are confirmed in that contract and at sonix.gg/subprocessors. [SONIX Legal — 20 Aug 2026: insert Nitro/Overwolf’s registered entity name, jurisdiction, and registration number here, matching the level of detail previously given for CookieYes, and confirm hosting location for the transfer-mechanism statement.]
None of these track you across other sites, build a profile, or feed advertising. You can’t disable them from the banner — blocking them in your browser settings will break parts of the site.
6. Analytics cookies (with consent)
Plain-language summary Google Analytics 4 helps us see how people use the site, so we can make it better. Only runs if you consent — and you can take that back anytime. We’ve locked it down as far as Google allows: no ad signals, no cross-product sharing, EU-based endpoints, shortened retention.
We use Google Analytics 4 (“GA4,” Google Ireland Limited, Dublin) to understand aggregate site usage — which pages work, what’s broken, what to build next. It loads only after you consent; no consent, no GA4, no analytics cookies.
How we’ve locked it down:
- IP handling — GA4 doesn’t retain your full IP after deriving an approximate location. We won’t call that “anonymised” in the strict legal sense, though — it isn’t, quite.
- No advertising signals — Google Signals and Ads-linking are off. Your SONIX activity doesn’t feed ads anywhere.
- No cross-product sharing — disabled.
- Shortened retention — 2 months for event data, 14 months for user-level data; the _ga cookie itself maxes out at 13 months.
- Processing location — EU-based collection endpoints where Google supports it; data may still leave the EEA under the Standard Contractual Clauses below.
- Standard Contractual Clauses — cover any GA4 data that does leave the EEA/Switzerland.
- Consent Mode v2 — Nitro CMP passes your consent state straight to Google, so GA4 measurement waits for your yes.
What it sees, when you say yes: approximate region, browser, OS, device type, pages visited, time on page, referrer, and a random visitor ID (_ga). What it never sees: your name, email, password, message or call content, payment details, or anything from inside the desktop/mobile apps (see Section 10).
Taking consent back: reopen “Cookie preferences” in the footer and toggle analytics off, or install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Doesn’t undo processing that already happened.
7. Advertising cookies (eligible accounts only)
Plain-language summary One ad network, built for gaming (Nitro/Overwolf) — not an open exchange. Runs for any account meeting our standard age eligibility. Never for school or institutional accounts. Decline personalised ads and you still see ads — just contextual ones, nothing built from tracking you.
For eligible accounts — adults, not on a recognised institutional/school domain — Nitro/Overwolf serves ads through its own script, governed by the same Nitro CMP banner that covers the rest of this page, using its IAB-registered consent tool (TCF) for EU/UK/Swiss visitors. Say yes and you get relevant, gaming-context ads; say no (or say nothing) and you still see ads — just non-personalised, contextual ones, with nothing built from tracking you.
This never runs for any account on a domain covered by a signed Institutional Customer Agreement. Beyond that, advertising eligibility follows SONIX’s standard account age eligibility (13+, 16+ in the EEA/UK) — no separate, additional age restriction. Supersonix subscribers see no ads, period.
Single consent tool. As of this version, Nitro CMP is our only cookie consent platform, replacing our prior two-tool setup (a separate general-purpose CMP alongside Nitro/Overwolf’s advertising-only TCF prompt). Because Nitro CMP now carries the full consent signal — necessary, analytics, and advertising alike — we’ve switched on Nitro CMP’s TCF Support and Google Additional Consent Mode, so your single “Accept all,” “Reject all,” or category-level choice is honoured consistently across every vendor on this page, including Google Analytics 4 and our advertising partner. There’s no longer a second, independent prompt to manage.
California, Colorado, or Connecticut resident (or an equivalent right elsewhere)? Use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer.
One more thing: our ad partner is a single, vetted, gaming-focused network.
8. What we don’t do
Plain-language summary No ads on any institutional account, ever. No social-media tracking pixels.
Beyond the eligible-accounts exception in Section 7, we don’t:
- Put Ads on any pre-registered domains of institutional/school accounts, under any circumstances;
- let Meta, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Snap, or other social-pixel ad networks set cookies on our sites;
9. Your choices — the consent banner
Plain-language summary First visit, you get one banner — powered by Nitro CMP — covering everything: Accept all, Reject all, or Manage preferences, including advertising for eligible accounts. Change your mind anytime via “Cookie preferences” in the footer.
First visit (or after we materially change our cookie use), the Nitro CMP banner shows up with three options, covering every category on this page in one place:
- Accept all — necessary cookies load (always do) plus GA4 analytics and, for eligible accounts, personalised advertising, with the settings in Sections 6 and 7.
- Reject all — necessary cookies only. No GA4, no analytics, and — for eligible accounts — non-personalised, contextual ads only (never no ads at all; see Section 7).
- Manage preferences — pick category by category (analytics, advertising) individually. Necessary stays on; analytics and advertising start off and only switch on if you turn them on.
“Reject all” sits right next to “Accept all,” same size, no dark patterns, no extra clicks. Nothing beyond the essentials loads until you choose — and for eligible accounts, that single choice now also governs the advertising category, with no separate prompt to manage.
Your choice sticks per the Nitro CMP consent record (see the retention figure in Section 4, once confirmed). To change it: click “Cookie preferences” → the banner reopens with your current settings, including your advertising choice → update and save.
10. Cookies in the apps
Plain-language summary The desktop and mobile apps use local storage — like cookies, but inside the app — just to keep you logged in and remember your settings. No tracking SDKs.
The desktop app (Windows, macOS) and mobile app (iOS, Android) use local storage and device-side databases to:
- keep you logged in (auth tokens in the OS’s secure storage);
- remember your preferences (notifications, display, last-used Crew);
- cache content for speed (avatars, soundmojis, recent emojis);
- keep chat history available across sessions.
No third-party analytics SDKs (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, AppsFlyer, or similar) run inside the apps. If we ever add limited first-party analytics for crash reporting, we’ll update this policy first, say what’s collected, and offer an opt-out where the law requires one.
11. Managing cookies in your browser
Plain-language summary You can also block or delete cookies in your browser — just know that blocking the essential ones breaks the site.
Independent of our banner, your browser has its own controls:
- Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
- Safari (Mac): support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471
- Safari (iOS): support.apple.com/HT201265
- Edge: support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge
- Brave: support.brave.com
- Opera: help.opera.com
Block everything — including the essential cookies — and sonix.gg won’t work properly. You may not be able to log in or save anything.
12. How long cookies last
Full detail is in the Section 4 inventory. Quick version:
- Session cookies (__cfuvid, wf-csrf, wf-csrf.sig, and the Nitro CMP banner-state cookie): gone when you close the browser.
- Nitro CMP consent cookie (covering necessary, analytics, and advertising consent together): [TBC — see Section 4].
- _ga / _ga_NC6T7NYDNJ (GA4): up to 13 months.
- Inside the apps: tokens and preferences persist until logout or uninstall; cached content refreshes regularly.
- Advertising cookies (Nitro/Overwolf, eligible accounts): consent records follow the standard IAB TCF convention (consent duration + up to 13 months); exact cookie-level durations to be confirmed and inserted — see Section 4.
13. Changes to this policy
Plain-language summary We may update this. Add a new cookie category — especially analytics or tracking — and we’ll re-ask via the banner.
We may update this policy from time to time — new cookies, new features, new legal requirements. Effective date’s at the top. A material change that introduces a new cookie category beyond strictly necessary means we re-prompt your consent before it takes effect. Using the site after that means you’ve accepted the update.
